The section between Aizu-Kawaguchi Station and Tadami Station, which had been a
closed section of the Tadami Line, will finally reopen on October 1st of this year!
The towns in OkuAizu are already in a welcoming mood.
It's been 11 years since the 2011 floods, and although that’s a long time, I feel like it went by in the blink of an eye.
Test runs of the trains have already been taking place on this section since July 20.
A trial train was waiting at Aizukawaguchi Station and I was deeply moved to finally see the train running over the bridge beyond Aizu-kawaguchi Station.
The 6th bridge, which required difficult reconstruction work, was also completed splendidly.
For the first time in 11 years, residents of the area have heard trains running through their neighborhood.
The children who were toddlers at the time of the flood are now junior high school students.
All the children must have asked their parents what it was when they saw the disused station and railway tracks overgrown with weeds.
Some of the children may have seen a train for the first time in their memory.
Anyway, when flights resume from October 1st, I will put more effort into making this website.
I would be happy if you could look forward to it.
If you have the chance, please come and take the revived Tadami Line.
